The benefits of an active childhood extend well beyond the primary years. Not just physically but there are many advantages socially, mentally and in the classroom too. All of our students are encouraged to get moving and give everything a go!

In the early years (Reception-Year 2), children are first introduced to sports, with a focus on learning basic skills and having fun. Children can participate in after school skills sessions including basketball, AFL football, netball, soccer, tennis and cricket.

With the help of parent volunteers to coach and manage the teams, children from Years 2-Year 6 can participate in a range of interschool sporting competitions run on weekends and after school. These are a great way for children to form wider friendship groups while honing their skills and knowledge of different games. Included in your school fees is one season of sport (i.e. Summer = terms 1 and 4 or Winter = terms 2 and 3). We offer basketball, cricket, netball, soccer and AFL football.

In addition to after school/weekend team sport, children are encouraged to participate in the South Australian Catholic Primary School Sports Association (SACPSSA) Carnivals that run throughout the year. The focus on these Carnivals is participation, not elite level skills. Children in years 3-6 learn the sports through a combination of PE lessons and lunchtime trainings and then compete against other SA Catholic Primary schools. The Carnivals include swimming, athletics, cross-country running (3km), touch football (modified), tennis and netball.

For children and/or teams who excel, we also compete in the SAPSASA Knockout School competitions for netball, basketball, soccer and cricket.
