Playgroup

St Joseph's Kingswood Playgroup

Fridays 8.50-10.30am

At St Joseph’s Kingswood Playgroup we invite each child to experience joy and wonder, while enhancing their development and experiencing the world around them.

Playgroup is a wonderful opportunity for family members and their child to be with others and to engage in experiences in a relaxed and supported environment with the guidance of one of our Reception Teachers.

We meet weekly during the school term and offer a stimulating and nurturing setting where children can grow in confidence and develop social skills such as taking turns and co-operating through play. Play is the way young children develop their sense of self, their sense of the world around them and their place in it.

Playgroup commences in Week 2 of Term 1, concluding in Week 10. For Terms 2, 3 & 4, Playgroup runs from Weeks 1 to 9 with an excursion in Week 9. For more info, check out the events on the St Joseph's Kingswood Facebook page and/or for term dates, see our FAQ section.

Play provides a supportive environment where children can ask questions, solve problems and engage in critical thinking. Play can expand children’s thinking and enhance their desire to know and learn.

Early Years Learning Framework

At St Joseph’s Kingswood Playgroup we invite each child to experience joy and enhance their development through exploration, structure activities and group time. Some examples of our weekly activities are sand and water play, block construction, observational drawing and painting, collage, puzzles, connecting to the natural environment, stories and songs.

We value the crucial role that parents play in these important early years and offer a unique environment and experiences where adults and children can spend valuable time together as well as interacting with others within our community
